Many people may have a question in their mind when it comes to their existing and current traffic to their site and how that affects their search engine rankings. The fact is, traffic has nothing to do with rankings calculations. However, many SEO experts say claim that Google uses collected Analytics data, but I believe that Google may use that to analyze how traffic vary to advertisers.
As I always emphasize on, the content that the visitor lands on, the engagement commenting, sharing, and linking from their own site are much more important to help your rankings than current traffic. Focus on the great content for people to devour and share which then will create more links, shares and likes to your site, and consequently gets you a higher ranking and more traffic. That being said, if you don’t have good content, all the traffic to your site will not help your ranking at all, and paid advertising specifically will be a waste of time
